A military ordnance from the Second World War has been safely removed from a Saskatoon backyard.

It was discovered Thursday around 11 a.m. during the clean-up of a backyard at a home near Ashworth Holmes Park in the 1000 block of Avenue F North.

The Saskatoon Police Service says it alerted the Department of National Defence, who determined the device was inert and removed it.
