Meewasin Grazing Dinners celebrate local food and the Saskatchewan landscape. The dinners begin with a private hike through the native prairie with Grassland Ecology and Resource Management expert Renny Grilz. A three-course dinner prepared by Chef Scott Dicks and the team at Odla is served outdoors, followed by a live demonstration on conservation grazing. 2 — Take in the weekend fireworks

The annual Nutrien Fireworks Festival is held over two nights this weekend, with daily activities leading up to the light shows. This year, the festival celebrates strength and community connections. Each day includes food, entertainment and fireworks choreographed to music by local and international artists. The festival runs Friday and Saturday at River Landing. 3 — Enjoy a family fun day fundraiser

Nonprofit organization My Cancer Breastie Network Inc. hosts its inaugural Besties for Breastie’s Family Fun Day on Saturday at 1 p.m., in support of the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan. Activities at Nutrien Playland at Kinsmen Park include face painting, caricature and balloon artists, and bouncy castles. Live entertainment follows at the Shakespeare festival site at 6 p.m., with Rory Lawford, the Saskatoon Soaps and Royal Wood. Learn more at mycancerbreastie.com.

4 — Walk and birdwatch along the riverbank

Local birding expert Stan Shadick leads a two-hour Guided Bird Walk along the riverbank in Cosmopolitan Park on Sunday at 1 p.m. See and hear a variety of songbirds and water birds. Novice and experienced bird watchers are welcome and the walk may be suitable for low-mobility patrons, with paved trails and gentle slopes. Funds support Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation. 5 — Compare traditional and plant-based burgers

The 11th annual Le Burger Week runs until Sept. 14 at participating restaurants across Canada. This year’s theme is plant-based, with restaurants offering a selection of original, limited edition plant-based and traditional burgers.
