Torchy’s Tacos has introduced its January taco of the month, the Fancy Schmancy, a perfect brunch taco made from hot smoked salmon, scrambled eggs, fresh spinach, capers, pickled onions and jalapenos, fresh dill and herbal cream cheese on a flour tortilla. Get it for $ 6.50 and pair it with $ 3.50 mimosa for the whole month.
On Sunday, January 17th at 4pm, Underbelly Hospitality’s culinary director Nick Fine will be teaching kids of all ages how to cook in UH’s next edition of Virtual Cooking for Kids, “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”. The $ 55 kit for four includes all the ingredients to make veggies and ranch, garlic bread, noodles and meatballs, and cannoli. Pick up your kit on January 16 between 12 noon and 5 p.m. at 11 a.m. Westheimer.
On Tuesday, January 19th, Etoile Cuisine et Bar, 1101-11 Uptown Park, is hosting a four-course meal featuring some of the best Burgundy wines. Philippe Verpi, who was created by the restaurant’s co-owner and master chef, serves a rich lobster bisque cream, fried scallops and pheasant breast with morel mushroom sauce in the evening. Dinner starts at 6.45pm and costs $ 124 per person plus tax and tip. Reservations are required by calling 832-668-5808.
The Saint Arnold virtual beer and cheese tasting will take place on Thursday, January 21st at 6pm. Founder / brewer Brock Wagner and cheese merchant Nicole Buergers lead the fun on Instagram Live. In addition to beer and cheese, the bonus treats include a homemade biscuit from the confectioner Dawn Prater, local honey from Bee2Bee Honey Collective, Raclette Mac to take away and cheese with cheese from the Dairymaids, as well as beers with a 500-milliliter bottle of the limited barley wine, the matured in bourbon barrels, among other things. Tickets (limited) are $ 53 and kits can be picked up between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the day (drive through the Beer Garden & Restaurant to pick them up).
On Friday, January 22nd at 6 p.m., guests will be invited to a virtual wine tasting from Hirsch Vineyards with winemaker Jasmine Hirsch and wine lover Matt Pridgen from Underbelly Hospitality. Tasting kits are $ 130 and include a bottle of Deer Pinot Noir “San Andreas Fault” Sonoma Coast 2017. Guests can also add a Georgia James sausage board for a snack during class. The kit will be picked up on January 21st from 12:00 to 17:00 at 11:00 a.m. Westheimer.
Agricole Hospitality will host a virtual wine tasting on Saturday January 30th at 5pm. During the tasting, Pinot Noirs from the Central Coast are explored with Siduri Wines on a journey through four Pinot Noirs. Tickets are $ 150 and include four bottles of wine as well as a Revival Market Charcuterie Board to have a snack on during the tasting.
