Listed here are 5 locations in Saskatoon to rejoice Nationwide Mojito Day

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – July 11th is a national holiday dedicated to the cooling, minty, lime-flavored cocktail called mojito.

The traditional Cuban highball is made of white rum, sugar or cane juice, lime juice, soda water, and mint leaves that bartenders confuse as part of the branding for the drink.

The origins of the mojito vary, with historians claiming that 19th century Cuban sugar cane fields were instrumental in the early days of the drink. Another story traces the beginning of the cocktail up to the 16th century and resembles a drink called “El Draque”, which was named after the English navigator Sir Francis Drake.

That said, there are five places in Saskatoon to have a sip of mojito today:

  • Reefs 3rd Bar, Midtown
  • Bar Boheme, Montrose
  • The apartment, Hyde Park
  • Barbecue, multiple locations
  • Truluck’s, multiple locations
