Location change for Canada Day celebrations in Saskatoon

There are changes afoot for this year’s Canada Day celebrations in Saskatoon. They are moving downtown, with family activities along River Landing, cultural performances, fireworks and the free concert in Victoria Park.

Project Manager of Canada Day Saskatoon, Shad Ali, says they are thrilled to carry on the tradition of hosting this event left by the Optimist Club of Saskatoon. “The opportunity has opened the door to not only bring the activities downtown, but also to energize partnership and collaboration among the Riversdale, Downtown and Broadway Business Improvement Districts, Tourism Saskatoon and the City of Saskatoon in hosting the day.”

The SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival will host the free stage at Victoria Park, featuring Juno nominated performer, Tenille Arts. This year’s Canada Day celebration is funded by Heritage Canada.
