The Saskatoon Blades will meet the Moose Jaw Warriors in the first round of the Western Hockey League playoffs.

The best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarter-final series is scheduled to begin next Friday in Moose Jaw.

The Blades wrapped up their regular-season play Friday night with a 2-1 victory over the visiting Brandon Wheat Kings before an announced crowd of 5,609 patrons at SaskTel Centre.

Kyle Crnkovic notched what proved to be the game-winning goal at 11:56 of the second period. Trevor Wong also scored for Saskatoon, which was outshot 36-22.

Nolan Maier made 35 saves for the win to earn the game’s No. 1 star honour.

Saskatoon finishes the regular season with a 38-26-3-1 record.

Brandon slipped to 35-27-3-2.

Moose Jaw, which wraps up its regular season Sunday in Regina against the Pats, guaranteed itself fourth place and home-ice advantage against the Blades with a 5-4 overtime loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes as the Warriors gained the extra point needed to stave off Saskatoon.
