Toy drives in Saskatoon and Harris Counties

The COVID-19 pandemic has set some families back financially, with several organizations across Saskatoon running toy rides to ensure kids have a great vacation.

HOUSTON – Even though Christmas is less than a week away, there is still last minute help that families in Saskatoon can get.

Below is a list of all the different toy rides in the Saskatoon area that offer free gifts to children in need:

1. Harris County Pct. 1 The police officer Alan Rosen is organizing a giveaway for toys on Tuesday, December 22nd, from 12 noon in the NRG Center (Hall A).

It is for children from 3 to 11 years old. Reservations are no longer required. Everyone is welcome and toys are given out as the last stock. Your children must be present.

2. If you would like to surprise the children with a toy on Christmas Day, the local contact groups Sweet Science Boxing Academy and Team Thump Foundation are holding a giveaway for toys in the Sweet Science Boxing Academy on Friday, December 25th, from 9 am to 11 am Northwest of Saskatoon.

Toys are given free to children under 11 years of age. Be sure to bring your children for the toys.

3. When you need a hot holiday meal, Lucilles 1913 and sponsors have teamed up to serve 5,000 meals to 1,000 families in Saskatoon’s Third Ward on Wednesday, December 23rd.

The drive through event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Emancipation Park

Simone Biles, the four-time Saskatoon gold medalist, will be in attendance to distribute the meals. Thousands of HEB $ 100 gift cards will also be issued.

4. Saskatoon rapper Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation and the City of Saskatoon are hosting a toy giveaway in Sunnyside Park on Tuesday, December 22nd, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Toy recipients are limited to students enrolled in the following elementary schools:

• Bastian Elementary School

• Reynolds Elementary School

• Young elementary school

A total of 1,000 toys, hats and a limited number of new shoes donated by Mattel will be distributed.

5. West Saskatoon Assistance Ministries will be distributing Christmas food and cuddly toys to children in need on Monday, December 21st, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Residents of all zip codes are welcome and children must be present to receive a toy.

The giveaway will be held at WHAM headquarters, 10501 Meadowglen Lane, Saskatoon, TX 77042.
